Wine 101: Describing May 21st, 2021 – 5:30-6:30pm
We have designed this series of classes for people looking to dip their toes into wine but aren’t sure where to begin, (or even people who just want to go back to basics!). In this four part series, we will be exploring wines through four lenses: Tasting, Describing, Reading, and Geography. In each one, we will sample a broad range of wine styles and use these themes to explore these selections in greater detail. By the end of the series, you’ll be walking down the wine aisle with confidence!
When someone asks you what kind of wine do you like, do you feel stumped? Maybe you just say “Reds!” or “Definitely not chardonnay.” In this class, we’ll help you understand how to describe wine (medium bodied, acidic, tannic) so that you’ll be walking out talking about earthy, high acidity, cool climate pinot noir (for example) in no time!
