Wine 101: Tasting May 7th, 2021 – 5:30-6:30pm
We have designed this series of classes for people looking to dip their toes into wine but aren’t sure where to begin, (or even people who just want to go back to basics!). In this four part series, we will be exploring wines through four lenses: Tasting, Describing, Reading, and Geography. In each one, we will sample a broad range of wine styles and use these themes to explore these selections in greater detail. By the end of the series, you’ll be walking down the wine aisle with confidence!
In this class we will explore the basics of tasting wine: Look, Smell, Taste. We will explore major varietals and regions as a way of understanding how wine can vary from country to country. We will also explore the impact that certain food flavors (bitter, sour, salty, sweet) have on our palate and how to start thinking about what to drink with dinner!
